Prix Sorcières 2012

The winners of the Prix Sorcières 2012 have been announced!

Kind of like the Oscars of French children’s books, the Prix Sorcières was created in 1986 by the booksellers making up the ‘Association des Librairies Spécialisées Jeunesse’ (ALSJ) with the aim of promoting books they considered truly creative and excellent works.  Having combined with the children’s librarians of the ‘Association des Bibliothecaires de France‘ (ABF) in 1989, year after year their selection works towards sharing fantastic books with children of all ages – beautiful books to help children explore, grow and develop, full of life and curiosity.

This year, 51 ASLJ booksellers and 54 ABF librarians chose the winners from 30 nominees across five categories, with the prize giving ceremony due to take place on March 19th at Paris’s Salon du Livre.
